David Bernatowicz

Managing Partner

David Bernatowicz is a private-markets investor with a career spanning corporate, real estate and specialty finance on a global basis.

Mr Bernatowicz established Hackworth Capital in 2023 to support European mid and upper-mid-market companies with financing, expansion and strategic partnerships.

In 2025, David was appointed CEO of MNB Alternatives, a BaFin-regulated, pan-European investment advisory platform serving institutional clients across primary fund investments, secondary transactions and co-investments with alternative products spanning private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate and specialty finance.

In 2020, David joined Arena to help grow the European Private Investments business. Mr Bernatowicz played a crucial role in originating, structuring and executing corporate, real estate and specialty finance transactions across both public and private credit and equity instruments.

Before that, David worked at RoundShield Partners, a London-based investment firm focused on European special opportunities, where he was involved in investments in real estate, infrastructure, hard asset and financial asset markets while also participating in the set-up of the firm’s specialty finance business.

Mr Bernatowicz began his career at Macquarie, joining their European Principal Investments team in 2015, where he worked on corporate credit investments across the capital structure.

David graduated from London Business School in 2015 and holds a Master’s degree in Performance Management and Business Engineering from HEC in Belgium, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2014.

David speaks French, German, English, Spanish and Polish.
